FIPPP is a solo performance theater troupe dedicated to collaborating with formerly-incarcerated individuals in order to help them shape their personal narratives for the stage. Their performances typically explore a range of themes, including the life events that led to incarceration, experiences within the modern mass-incarceration system, and the challenges of reintegration into civilian communities after release. The response to their performances has been overwhelmingly positive, and they are thrilled to announce that Berkeley Repertory Theatre has chosen them as their company-in-residence for the next two years.
Now is an excellent opportunity for formerly-incarcerated individuals to become a part of their community as they prepare to return to the theater for a new season. Their workshops are set to begin at the start of October. Participants not only receive a stipend for their involvement but also benefit from professional guidance and valuable stage time. This culminates in public performances hosted at the Berkeley Repertory School of Theater.
If you are aware of any formerly-incarcerated individuals in the Bay Area who may be interested in this opportunity, we kindly ask that you refer them to FIPPP. Your support and referrals play a crucial role in helping them continue their mission of empowerment and artistic expression.
